Choose from our wide and varied spirit selection – from artisanal gins garnished with your choice of fresh herbs and spices, to Armagnac and Cognac. Enjoy one of dozens of wines, champagnes and sparkling wines served by the glass, including any one of our fine wines served using Coravin technology. Our bar staff will be happy to make a recommendation or mix you a classic or ‘neo-classic’ cocktail or apéritif.
The exceptional experience we strive to offer at Thackeray’s does not end with the food. The wine list is a source of great pride to Gary Beach, our director. Rather than a self-indulgent selection of his own preferences, it is a broad and varied menu – including examples of outstanding wines from all over the world and a good selection from the growing number of quality English vineyards.
Diners’ tastes are varied, so Gary does not rely on just himself when choosing wines to include. All staff have input including our bar staff, our chefs, and the owner Richard Phillips.
So whether it be an iconic Bordeaux from one of the outstanding vintages, a glass of something familiar or something a little more idiosyncratic, you’ll find something to delight. And please, don’t hesitate to ask for a recommendation.
We are pleased to own a Coravin Wine System, which enables us to serve any of our wines by the glass without removing the cork – meaning you can try a wider variety without having to buy a bottle.
Our tranquil terrace is a beautiful spot to enjoy a drink or meal during the summer months. It feels clean, peaceful and understated and features regular, soothing live music.
Guests can order from any of our restaurant menus on the terrace, and even see dishes prepared on our ‘Big Green Egg’ smoker which is located behind the terrace bar. Or simply recline on the comfortable seating, sipping on a glass of something from our broad, varied and award-winning wine list.
